Dukes were again united in wedlock at the old homestead, in Tuckahoe, Christmas day, after a half century of happy married life. Four generations were present. A dinner of roast turkey, chicken and duck were served after the ceremony, which was performed in the same spot where fifty years ago the two young persons had made the vows which they have kept during the half century. Their honeymoon started at break of Christmas Day, 1856, when, after the wedding which was performed at 5 o'clock in the morning, they rode in a stage coach to Philadelphia. The children of Mr. and Mrs. Dukes are: George T. Dukes, of Tuckahoe; Mrs. William G. Champion, of Millville; Maurice J. Dukes, of Middletown, Del., and Miss Mary Dukes of Philadelphia.
