Cape May (NJ) County Gazelle
Stone Harbor—Word has been received of the death of Rune H. Eklund, a nationally
known engineer and for more, than 25 years, a summer resident of this resort,
whose home was at 959 Cobbs St., Drexel Hill, Pa., on Friday, Sep. 30, 1966 in
Philadelphia.  Born in Gefle, Sweden, he came to-this country in 1924.  He was a
graduate of the Chalmers Institute in Sweden and the University of. Austrelitz,
Germany. A designer with the General Electric Co, for 38 years, he was
considered one of the outstanding men in his field, having designed more than
half of the largest sub-stations in this country for General Electric.  He
retired four years ago and became a consulting engineer with offices in New York.
Surviving are his wife, Marguerite, two sons. Rune G., of Drexel Hill, and Rolf
L., of Lansdowne; two daughters Mrs. Robert J. Furey of Hatboro, Pa., and Sonia
B., of Drexel Hill, a sister, Mrs. Hiemi Quist, .of Springfield, Pa., and a
brother, Helge, of Gefle, Sweden.
Mass was on Tuesday at St. Bernadette's Church, Drexel Hill, and interment in SS
Peter, and Paul Cemetery.
