(Bridgeton, N.J.) 1851-1884: 31 March 1855 Died March 13th, at Cape May Court House, Sarah Ann, wife of Elijah Townsend, Esq. Surrogate of the County of Cape May in her 42d year. Sister Townsend embraced religion in early life, and united with the M. E. church of which she continued a worthy and consistent member till called from labor to reward… In her removal from our midst the community has suffered no common loss, and her husband and babe, no ordinary bereavement. But they trust in the word of our God, and are satisfied. Her remains were interred in the “ Ebenezer Cemetery,” near the Court House, there to rest till the morning of the resurrection.
