(Bridgeton, N.J.) 1851-1884: February 12, 1859 February 12, 1859 White Men Scarce. An exchange says that seventy-two white females were married to Negroes, in the State of Massachusetts, during the past year. If these same ladies would emigrant to Utah, they might at least find “saints” of their own color. A more disgusting exhibition, we can scarcely imagine, or one in which a female could be sunk lower in the scale of degradation. An utter outcast to every sense of self. Truly there is no accounting for some tastes.
