(Bridgeton, N.J.) 1851-1884: March 26, 1859 Ogden, Jason - Drowned. On Saturday morning last, between daybreak and sunrise, Mr. Jason Ogden, of Cedarville, was knocked overboard from the deck of the sloop Ida, and drowned. The body was not recovered. The vessel was laden with Lumber, Dry Goods, &c, and bound for Cedarville. While near the mouth of Cedar creek, a severe gale caused a sudden movement of the sail, which knocked him overboard. The deceased was about 29 years of age. A number of persons, we are informed, went down on Monday afternoon to endeavor to recover the body, but so far as we have yet learned, they have met with no success. In accordance with the wishes of the friends of the deceased, a service was conducted in the Brick Church, Cedarville, on Sunday afternoon, designed to be appropriate to the occasion.
