In Millville on Monday last, Captain William Rocap died, 
in the 76th year of his age.  Captain Rocap was born in 
the year 1800, at Jones' Island, near Cedarville.  He has 
been Master of a vessel 55 years.  Capt. R. had a life of 
striking hardships and vicissitudes.  Under his command 
nine vessels were lost at sea, one was burned in the 
Maurice River, and one was destroyed by the exposion of 
powder.
