I, Thomas Padgett, farmer, of the township of Greenwich, County of Cumberland and State of New Jersey do make and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following my funeral charges and all other just debts being first paid. First, I authorize my executor hereinafter named to sell all my lands in the county of Salem, State of New Jersey for the best price they will bring at his discretion, and to divide the proceeds thereof in equal shares between the children of my brother David, & sisters Priscilla and Mary. Second, I give to John Noble, son of Daniel Nobel of Stoe Creek that field adjoining the farm of Daniel Noble in Stoe Creek called the old orchard and authorize my executor to make him a good and sufficient title for the same. Third, all the remainder of my lands wheresoever and whatsoever I bequeath to Mark Westcote, son of my former wife, or in case of his death to his children to be divided between them in equal shares, but subject to the following conditions: first that the said Mark Westcote, or, in case of his death, his children, pay to my beloved wife Elizabeth within one year of my decease the Sum of one hundred and fifty dollars & _______, that the said Mark Westcote, or, in case of his death, his children, pay to my said wife, Elizabeth one third of the rents of the said lands during the term of her natural life. Fourth, I bequeath to my beloved wife, Elizabeth two cows, and two beds with the usual quantity of bedding for two beds, the said cows, bed and bedding to be selected by herself. I further give to my said wife all the wheat & corn standing on the ground or being in the barn or in the crib, on the farm whereon I now live and these and all other bequests I give to my said wife in _____ of _____. Fifth, I bequeath to William Richardson the sum of twenty five dollars to be paid by my executor within six months after my decease and I release him from the payment of any _____ for rent due me at the time of my decease. Sixth, I hereby make and appoint my friend, Justice Bonham of the County of Salem executor to this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirty-first day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty five.
