It is my will and I hereby direct my executor hereinafter named to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses as soon as can conveniently be done after my decease. 2. I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife all my household goods and kitchen furniture and in addition thereto the one third interest in any house premises where I now reside situate in Newark aforesaid & known as number one hundred & eighty one Commerce Street, to be occupied by her during her natural life. 3. I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas S. Conklin the sum of one dollar to be paid to him soon as is convenient after my decease. 4. All the rest of my Estate whether the same be real or personal or wherever the same may be situated I give and bequeath & devise unto my surviving children to wit John A. Conklin, Daniel F. Conklin, Charles L. Conklin, my sons and Ann E. Fredericks, Sarah M. Williams, & Ann L. Opien my daughters and my grandson John E. Fredericks, the son of my deceased daughter Joannah to be equally divided among them, share & share alike, and the reason why I have not herein given to my son Thomas S. Conklin an equal share with my other children is not because I have for him any lefs affection but because I consider he has already had his full share of my estate. 5. I hereby constitute & appoint my son in law, Nicholas J. Fredericks, Executor of this my last will & testament, hereby authorizing and empowering him whenever in his judgment is thought best to sell & dispose of my real estate and divide the proceeds of such sale as herein before provided. Conklin Additional Comments: Daniel was married at least twice. I am looking for the names of his wives. In the 1850 Newark Census he was married to Sarah. She died in 1855. On the 1860 Newark Census his wife is listed as Rachel.
