West-Jersey pioneer. (Bridgeton, N.J.) 1851-1884: September 06, 1856
Died in Carpenter’s Landing, on Thursday, the 28th day of Aug., at the house of her
father, Mr. John T. Bower, Mrs. Sarah, wife of Mr. John Rice, in the 23d year of her
age.
The disease which terminated her earthly existence was of a pulmonary character. She
suffered much during the last few months of her life, but in the midst thereof,
divine grace was rendered conspicuous in the patience, submission, peace, and sacred
joy which she was permitted to enjoy. Her last hours were signally favored with more
than usual triumph…
