The submittor has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ************************************************************************ Will Inventory of AMARIAH BALLINGER, 1760, NJ State Archives, 684H "In the name of God, Amen, this third day of JANUARY 1758, I, AMERIAH BALLINGER of the township of Deptford in the county of GLOUCESTER and province of West New Jersey, yeoman,being very sick and weak of body.(unreadable) mind and memory, Thanks be given unto God; therefore calling unto mind the mortallity of my body and knowing tht it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my Last will and Testament that is to say, principally and first of all, I give and recommend my Soul unto the hands of God that gave it; and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christain (sic) like manner at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named. And as touching my worldy estate...dispose of same in the following manner and form: I give and bequeath unto my daughter-in-law, SUSANAH ASHBROOK, the sum of ten pounds to be paid to her when she shall arrive at age of 18 years....I give unto my daughter-in-law HANNAH ASHBROOK and son-in-law THOMAS ASHBROOK each the sum of five pounds.......I give and bequeath to MARY, my well beloved wife, all my movable estate in lieu of her dowry and to bring up my four youngest children. Item: I leave all my lands to be sold to pay my just debts and arising from the sale of the land to be divided amongst my children as followeth, that is to say, the one half to my TWO SONS, SAMUEL and AMERIAH; the other half to my three daughters: ELIZABETH, MARY, AND SARAH, and one encente which my wife is now big with to be equally divided amongst the four, if that unborn be a daughter......Lastly, I appoint my well beloved BROTHERS, JOSHUA and THOMAS BALLINGER to be my executors.
