OBITUARY Sent to the Jersey Journal and San Diego Union Tribune: 

Charlotte Rose Rawlins Kunold, 77, died Wednesday, December 03, 2003 in 
Grossmont Hospital, Transitional Care Unit, La Mesa, California.  Charlotte was 
born March 21, 1926 in Hoboken, New Jersey to George Frederick and Dorothea 
(Dora) Wood Rawlins.  She is the paternal granddaughter of James Vevers Rawlins 
and Margaret Frances Bove and a maternal granddaughter of James Henry Wood and 
Dorothea Mueller. 

Charlotte leaves to mourn her loss; a daughter, Charlene Phillips-Spaulding and 
husband Bud of rural Salem, Nebr.; two sons, Edward Kunold and wife Gail of San 
Diego, CA and David Kunold and wife Susan of Ft. Worth, TX; a daugther-in-law, 
Sandy Kunold of San Diego, CA; a brother, William Rawlins of Bartow, FL; 
grandchildren, April Jacobsen and husband Leif of Temecula, CA, Julie Mitchell 
and husband Mark serving our Lord in Malawi, Africa, David Kunold and Melody of 
Hartford, CT, Charity Kunold of San Diego, CA, DoniRae Phillips and Donald 
Phillips of rural Salem, Nebr., Lisa Michelle Beir and Kent of Cody, WY; great-
grandchildren, Dakota and Bailey Jacobsen of Temecula, CA, Cassandra, Alisa and 
Hope Beir of Cody, WY; sisters-in-law, Betty Brubaker of Rancho Bernardo and 
Marilyn "Mickey" Andras of NJ, nieces and nephews in NJ, FL, OR, WA and CA, 
cousins in Europe, FL, SC and NJ and many lifelong friends. 

Charlotte is preceded in death by parents; her husband, Edward St. Paul Kunold; 
long time partner, David McCarthy; three brothers, George Frederick Rawlins, 
James Henry Rawlins and Joseph Daniel Rawlins; two sisters, Dorothy Florence 
Kramer and Frances Marie Kramer. 

Charlotte worked diligently on obtaining genealogy information for nearly twenty 
years.  She moved from Hudson County to San Diego, CA in 1964. 

Funeral services were held at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd., 
San Diego, CA 92121, Monday, December 08 at noon.
