AMWELL - GERMAN REFORMED  -- 12-1-1749

Deed to church 21 Jan 1749.  Land belonged to ATHONY DIERDORF who bought it
from NATHAN ALLEN.

Deed to WILLIAM KASE, PETER HOFMAN & WILLIAM BELLOWSFELT, trustees for the
Calvinistical High Dutch Congregation in twp Amwell.  Witnesses:  JOHN
GARRISON, JOHN CASE, DANIEL LAROE AND JACOB WOOLEVER.

        ARTICLES OF ORDER AND DISCIPLINE  --  1749

1.  No minister was to be allowed to preach in the church unless he belonged
to Coetus [i.e. the Synod].

2.  No one was to be a member who was not devoted "with mouth and heart" to
the doctrines of the Heidelberg Catechism.

3.  No child was to be baptized, except in cases of sickness, unless it be
brought into the church, and only the parents could present it, and they
only if confirmed.

4.  The dead were to be buried with appropriate ceremonies.

5.  All members were to contribute to the support of the church.
