All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nj/njfiles.htm ************************************************ Hunterdon County Deeds Volume 20 page 305 John Bainbridge and wife to William Bainbridge This indenture made the first day of April in the year of our Lord one housand seven hundred and ninety three Between John Bainbridge of Hilsborough Township in the County of Somerset Yeoman and Ann his wife of the one part and William Bainbridge of Hopewell township in State and County of Hunterdon farmer of the other part for three hundred and fifty pounds specie money of New Jersey paid by the said William Bainbridge at and before the ensealing of these presents the receipt whereof they hereby acknowledge and themselves therewith fuly content satisfyed and paid And therefore and therefrom and from every part and parcel thereof doth release Exonerate acquit and forever discharge him the sd. William Bainbridge his heirs and assigns forever by these presents they the said John Bainbridge and Ann his wife hath Granted Bargained sold en?ed conveyed Released and confirmed and by these presents doth fully freeley and absolutely grant bargain sell enceast convey release and confirm to the said William Bainbridge and to his heirs and assigns forever all that certain tract of land and Plantation on the west side of Jacobs Creek in the Township of Hopewell and is butted and bounded as followeth viz. Beginning at a fallen black oak on the west side of Jacobs Creek a corner to Foster Burrowes and Williams Bainbridge’s land and runs from thence south one degree east four chains to a hickory sapling thence south eighty eight degrees west eleven chains and eighty four links to a stone corner of Nathaniel Baldwin thence along his line North three degrees and one half west fifty six chains to a black oak stump thence South Eighty eight degrees east three chains and six links to a the Middle of Jacobs Creek thence down the same the several courses thereof to a Willow tree marked for a corner thence south seventeen degrees and forty five minutes west seven chains and forty six links to the first mentioned corner containing forty six acres three quarters and thirty perches of land be same more or less together with all and singular the buildings Houses Edificies Orhards Gardens Lands Medows Trees woods underwoods ways waters water courxes mines mienrals fishings fowlings hawking Hunting profits Commodities Advantages Emoluments whatsoever to the tract of land and Plantaion belonging or in any wise appurtaining or with to and with the same now or at any time heretofore have been held used occupied Accepted reputed taken or known as part parcel or member thereof or any part threof and the reversion and reversions remainder and reminders rites --- and profits of all and singular the sd premises and every part and parcel thereof with the appartainances also all the estate right title Interest claim and Demand whatsoever in law or Equity of the sd John Bainbridge and Ann his wife their heirs Executors & Administrators of in and to all & singular the sd. Premises -- - mentioned & of in & to every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold all and singular the sd tract of land and plantation hereditatments and premises as aboe mentioned to the sd. William Bainbridge his heirs and assigns to the only proper use benefit & behoof of him the sd. William Bainbrige his heirs and assigns forever. And the said John Bainbridge and Ann his wife for them theirhiers Exec. & Admin. Doth covenant grant promise & --- with the sd John Bainbridge his heirs and assigns that he had not done or suffered to be Done willingly or willfully any matter --- whatsoever whereby or by reason whereof the estate of these presents granted or intended to be granted maybe in any wise Defective --- charged or incoumberd And the sd John Bainbridge & Ann his wife their heirs Executors & Admin. Shall and will from time to time and at all times hereafter at the reasonable request & charges of him the sd William Bainbridge his heirs and Assigns Make Do and Execute such other conveyance or conveyances in the law for the better and more perfect assuring that the hereby granted premises unto the sd William Bainbridge his heirs and Assigns as his Council Learned in the law shall --- and advise Devise or Require And Lastly the sd John Bainbridge and Ann his wife hat granted and sold all and singular the said herby granted premises and every --- with the appurtenances unto the sd. William Bainbridge his heirs and assigns against all and every person or persons whatsoever anything Claiming or to --- the premises In witness whereof the said John Bainbridge and Ann his wife have herunto set their hands & seals the year first above written John Bainbridge Ann Bainbridge Signed and sealed in the presence of us Elias Boudinot, Jr. Joseph Williamson State of New Jersey Middlesex County viz Be it known that on the twenty ninth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve John Bainbridge and Ann his wife the grantors within named to me personally --- came before me Thomas Hance one of the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas in and for the county aforesaid and that they signed sealed and delivered the within Instrument --- writing for the uses and purposes therein contained and that Anne Bainbridge being examined by me separate and apart from her husband did further that she executed the within as her --- and deed, freely without any fear threat or constraint from her husaband Acknowledged before me Recorded 18th November 1812 Thomas Hance
