Annoq; Domini One Thousand Seven Hundred and thirty Seven BETWEEN Jacob Godown of the County of Hunterdon of the one Part and the Commissioners of the Loan Office of the County of Hunterdon on the other part, WITNESSETH, That the said Jacob Godown for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty pounds by the Commissioners of the Loan-Office of the County of Hunterdon to him well and truly in Hand paid, whereof, he grants the Receipt, and acknowledges himself to be therewith contented, and for himself his Heirs, Executors and Administrators, releases and discharges The Commissioners of the Loan Office of the County of Hunterdon and their successors thereof forever Hath Granted, Bargained, Sold, Released, Enc? and confirmed, and by these Presents Doth Grant, Bargain, Sell, Release, Enseossesd and Confirm to the Commissioners of the Loan-Office of the County of Hunterdon and their Successors and Assigns forever, all that Tract of Land Farm and Plantation Situate in the Township of Amwell in the County of Hunterdon aforesd. Boudned as followeth (viz.) Beginning at a corner treen standing in the Kings Road to the line of an old survey and so from thence along the said line Sought West forty Chans to another Corner then South easterly fifty five degrees fifty two Chains and fifty links to another Corner Then Southeasterly fifty five degrees fifty two Chains and fifty links to another Corner tree Then North East forty Chains to another Corner Tree Standing in the Kings Road and so from thence along the said Road to the first mentioned Corner, Surveying for Two hundred acres cecepting the southeasterly half part thereof upon which his son Jacob now dwells Together with all and all Manner of Woods, Under-Woods, Trees, Mines, Minerals, Quarries, Hawkings, Huntings, Fowlings, Fishings, Buildings, Fences, Improvements, Hereditaments and Appurtenances whatsoever to the same belonging, or in any ways appertaining; and all the Estate, Right, Title, Interest, Possession, Property, Claim and Demand of the said Jacob Godown and his Hiers to the above bargained premises and every Part thereof, to HAVE and to HOLD the above bargained Premises, and every Part thereof, with the Appurtenances, to the Commissioners of the Loan Office of the County of Hunterdon and their Successors ad Assigns forever, to the Uses and Purposes mentioned in an Act of the General Assembly of this Province, pass’d in the Seventh Year of His Majesty’s Reign, Entitled, An Act for making Forty Thousand Pounds in Bills of Credit. And the said John Akers for himself his Heirs, Executors and Administrators doth Covenant, Grant, Bargain and Agree to and with the Commissioners of the Loan- Office of the County of Hunterdon and their Successors, That at and before the Time of the Sealing and Delivery hereof, he the said Jacob Godown stood lawfully seized of the above bargained Premises of a good, sure, perfect and indeseizable Estate of Inheritance in the Law, in Fee-Simple, and that the same then were free and clear of all former and other Gifts, Grants, Bargains, Sales, Leases, Releases, Judgments, Extents, Recognizances, Dowers, Entails and other Incumbrance in the Law whatsoever. Provided always and these Presents are upon this Condition, That the said Jacob Godown his Heirs, Executors, Administrators or Assigns do pay or cause to be paid to the Commissioners of the Loan office of the County of Hunterdon the above Sum of Twenty pounds in the Proportions and at the Times following (To wit) The Sum of one pound on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty-eight. And the Sum of one pound on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty-nine. And the Sum of one pound on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty. And the Sum of one pound on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-one. And the Sum of one pound on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-two. And the Sum of twenty five shillings on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-three. And the Sum of twenty five shillings on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-four. And the Sum of twenty five shillings on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-five. And the Sum of twenty five shillings on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-six. And the sum of twenty five shillings on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-eight. And the Sum of twenty five shillings on the Twenty- fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty-nine. And the Sum of twenty five shillings on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty. And the Sum of twenty five shillings on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty-one. And the Sum of twenty five shillings on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty-two. And the Sum of twenty five shillings on the Twenty-fifth Day of March, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty-three; and shall at every of the said Terms of Payment, pay to the Commissioners of the Loan-Office of the county of Hunterdon the Interest at the Rate of Five per Cent, of the said Principal Sum of twenty pounds and the Parts thereof remaining unpaid before the said respective Terms of Payment, according to the true Intent and Meaning of the said Act of General Assembly of this Province, Then the above Grant, Bargain, and Sale, and every Article and Clause thereof shall be void; But if Failure is made in any of the payments above mentioned, then the above Bargain and Sale is to remain in full Force and Virtue. And the said Jacob Godown for himself his Heirs and Assigns doth agree to be absolutely barred of all Equity of Redemption of the Premises, within Thirty Days after such Failure, And the said Jacob Godown for himself his Heirs, Executors and Administrators Doth Covenant, Grant, Bargain, Promise and Agree to and with the Commissioners of the Loan-Office of the County of Hunterdon and their Successors, Well and truly pay to them all and every the Sums of Money above-mentioned, at the Times on which the same ought to be paid as aforesaid; and the above-bargained Premises, upon the sale thereof, pursuant to the Directions of the said Act, will yeild the Principal and Interest aforesaid, remaining unpaid, at the Time of such Sale, together with the Charges for such Sale. In Witness whereof the Parties to these Present Indentures have interchangeably set their Hands and Seals the Day and Year above-written.
