All Rights Reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nj/njfiles.htm ********************************************************* From Delaware Township, NJ. Return of Deaths in the township of Delaware, County of Hunterdon, State of New Jersey, from the 15th day of Sept 1874 to the 15th day of Sept 1875. The headings are no., name of deceased, sex of Dec'd, married or single, age, occupation, place of death, place of birth, names of parents, cause of death, time of making report. The spellings are the original spellings on the page, any comments of mine will be in brackets.Note: Watch the dates carefully. They are not always recorded in order so someone who died in 1874 may come after someone who died in 1875. The registrar was very free with his use of ditto marks. Instead of using the ditto's which might be confusing in this format, I have taken the liberty of writing out everything. So if someone has a ditto mark.for example for marital status, I have listed them as single or married based on the above entry. 1st, October 17th 1874, Elizabeth Williamson, female, married, 27, no occupation given, Delaware, Alexandria, NJ, William & Ann Moore,Consumption, June 2nd 1875 2nd, February 18, 1875,Joseph R. Hann, male, single, 23, house painter, Delaware, Raritan, NJ , William & Sarah Hann, consumption, June 2nd 1875 3rd, November 6th '75, Emma Bowden, female, single, 3/12, no occupation, Delaware, Delaware, Richard & Lizzie Bowden, Scarlatena, June 3rd 1875 4th, Nov 15th 1875, Eva Bowden, female, single, 4/12, no occupation given, Delaware, Delaware, Richard & Lizzie Bowden, scarlatena , June 3, 1875 (*NOTE: It appears that the registrar recorded the two deaths of Emma and Eva Bowden as Nov 6th'75 and Nov 15 th , 1875, respectively and yet the time of making the record of death is June 3rd, 1875 for both. Since one can not record a death before it happens, it appears that these two actually died in 1874. ) 5, Feb 15th 1875, Wilson B.
