All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nj/njfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Tinney linda@branches-n-twigs.com August 27, 2008, 5:21 am Source: State Of New Jersey, Will Number 2297j Written: February 5, 1808 In the Name of God Amen this fifth day of February in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and eight I Henry Case of Alexandria in the County of Hunterdon and State of New Jersey being Sick and weak in body but of sound mind and memory thanks be given to God herefor calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is Appointed for all men once to die, do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body I commit to the earth to be buried in a Christianly and decent manner at the Discretion of my Executors, and as to such worldly estate whereswith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life. I Give Divise and Dispose of the same in the following manner and form Viz In the first place I order and Direct that all my Just Debts and funeral Charges be paid by my Executors hereafter to be named as soon as may be after my Decease. Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife Christian two hundred pounds together with one mare two Cows Six Sheep and three hogs and likewise give her the Residue of my moveable Estate after my debts are paid. Item I give and Bequeath unto my three sons Phillip, Henry and Peter the whole of my Land together with all my right title interest thereunto in any wise, Apertaining or belonging; [between these lines is written, "Share and Share alike and each to pay their proportion of the Legacies"] to them their heirs and assigns forever. Item I give unto my son John two hundred pounds to be paid to him two years after my Decease. Item I give unto my three Daughters Anne Elizabeth and Mary fifty pounds each to be paid to them one year after my Decease. Furthermore I do hereby Constitute make and Ordain my two sons Phillip and Henry Above named my Executors of this my last Will and Testament. Lastly I do hereby revoke and Disanull all other former Wills Legacies and Bequests by me in anywise Willed or Bequeathed heretofor, And do Rattify and Confirm this and no other to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the day and year above written. Sealed Published Pronounced and Delcared by the said Henry Case as his last will and Testament in the presence of (signed) John Fisher Peter (his X mark) Waggoner (signed) Ralph Guild Henry (his X mark) Case New Jersey Hunterdon County Philip Case and Henry Case the Executors of the last Will and Testament of Henry Case, who being duly sworn according to Law did depose and say that the within wri- ting contains a true and perfect Inventory of all and sin gular the goods Chattels and Credits of the said Henry Case dec'd as far as have come to their knowledge or Possession or to the Possession of any other Person or Persons for their use. Sworn this 5th day of March AD 1808 before me George Maxwell Surrogate (signed) Philip Case (signed) Henry Case Ralph Guild and John Fisher the appraisers of the within Inventory being duly sworn according to Law did severally declare that the Goods Chattels and Credits in the within Inventory set down and specified were by them appraised according to their just and true respective rates and values after the best of their Judge ment and understanding and that they appraised all things that were brought to their view for apprais ment.
