All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nj/njfiles.htm ************************************************ Hunterdon County Wills 581J Will of Jonathan Waters 1762 Hunterdon County Probated In the name of God Amen I Jonathan Waters of Hopewell in the County of Hunterdon Being of sound mind and perfect memory and calling to mind the Certaiinty of Deth and that the time thereof is most uncertain Do make and ordaing and Deliver this my Last Will and Testament in maner and form following viz Wherein I Principally and fist of all I Recommend my soul unto the hands of God that Gave it and my body I recommend it to the Earth to be Buried in a Chrystain and Decent manner at the Disposition of my Executors hereafter mentioned And as Touching such Personal Estate as God hath --- --- me --- of after my Just Debts ar epaid and all my funeral charges are paid I give and Bequeth Comit Dispose and order the same as hereafter followeth I give all my movables to my Son Williiam Waters and to my Dafter Elizabeth to Be Equally Devided between them two Lastly I constitute make ordain and appoint my Son William Waters and Andrew Muirhead to be my Executors of this my Last will and Testatment in witness whereof I have to this my Last will and Testament set my hand and seal the second day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Sealed Signed and Published as my Jonathan Waters Last will and testament In Presence of Robert Akers John Davison Stephen Jones Robert Akors and John Davison Two of the Witnesses to the within Will being sworn on the Honly Evangelists of Almighty God did depose that they saw Jonathan Waters the Testator Within named sign and seal the same and heard him publish pronounce and declare the Within Instrument to be his last Will and Testament And that at the doing thereof the said Testator was of Sound and disposing mind & memory as far as they know and as they verily believe and that Stephen Jones the other subscribing Witness was present & signed his name as a Witness to the said Will in presence of the said Testator and in the presence of each other Robert Akers John Davison Sworn the 27th day of Septemr 1762 Theo. Severns Junr Andrew Muirhead Executor in the Within Testament named being sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God did depose that the within Instrument Contains the last Will & Testament of Jonathan Waters the Testator therein named so far as he knows and as he Verrilly believes and That he Will Well & Truly performe the same by paying firt the Debts of the Said Deceased and then the legacies in the said Testmt. Specified so farr as the Goods Chattels, & Credits of the said Decd --- have os shall hereafter Come to his knowledge or Possesssion or the possession of any other person or persons for his use and Exhibit the same into the perogative office in Burlington & --- --- --- when Lawfully required Andrew Muirhead Swon Sept. 217 1762 Before me Theo.
