I Thomas Akers of the Township of Amwell County of Hunterdon and State of New Jersey, being weak in body but of sound mind memory and understanding (for which blessing I most devoutly thank my God) do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following: that is to say, First, it is my will and I do order that all my just debts and funeral charges and expences be duly paid and satisfyed as soon as conveniently can be after my decease, Item, First I --- give and bequeathe unto my son John Akers my son Abner Akers and my daughter Ruth Akers all my lot of land whereon I now live to them and to their heirs and assigns forever to be held them Jointly or separately share and share alike, Item Second it is my will and I do order that my Bed and bedding be given to my Grand Daughters (viz Maria Akers and Cordelia Akers share and share alike jointly for their use, Third It is my will and I do order that the remainder of my property be sold by my Executors to pay my Debts (or if my three Children named in this my last will and testament should think proper to pay my Debts, then the property which I have left to be sold shall be divided between them respectively share and share alike. Item Fourth, In case my personal Estate (except the bed and beding which I do give unto my two Grand Daughters, should not be sufficient to pay my debts then I charge my real Estate herein before devised to my tow sones and my Daughter with the same and order so much thereof from time to time to be sold of the same. Lastly I hereby appoint my respective Grandson Uriah Akers and respective friend Benjm.
