All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nj/njfiles.htm ************************************************ Richard Phillips Will & Inventory 1435J In the name of God Amen I Richard Phillips of the Township of Amwell in the County of Hunterdon State of West New Jersey being in perfect helth and of a Sound mind and Memory Calling to mind the morality of my body the Uncertainty of Live an The Certainty of Death Do make this my Last Will and Testament First and principally I recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it, And my Body to the Earth from whence Taken to be buried in a Decent and Christian Like manner at the Discretion of my Executors hereafter named And Toutehing Such Worldly Estate as it hat pleased God to bless me with in this Live I give and Dispose of in the manner and Form following Viz Imprimus it is my Will and I do hereby Order in the first place that all my debts and funeral charges be immediately paid and satisfied Item I give and Bequeath Unto my Well Beloved wife May Phillips a good and sufficient maintenance as long as she shall remain my widow out of my --- Item I give and bequeath unto my Three sons Richard Phillips John Phillips and David phillips and Their Heirs and Assigns forever All and Every part of my plantation or homestead Whereon I now Dwell with all and Every part of my movable or personal Estate only Excepting two young horses to Equally divided between them And I do hereby Charge my Three Sons Above Named with the payment of my Debts and Legacies hereafter Mentioned Item I give unto my Eldest son Samuel phillips One hundred pounds with one Young horse Item I Give and Bequeath unto my son Isaac phillips one hundred pounds with one young horse. We command you to Cite John Phillips, Executor of the Last Will and Testament of Richard Phillips Deceased, to be and appear before our Judges of our Orphans Court to be holden at Trenton in and for our said County of Hunterdon on the fourth tuesday in October Instant to answer the complaint of Richard Phillips for that he the said John hath not exhibited into the Surrogates Office a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of said Deceased and that he has not Sated and exhibited an account of the said Estate - and further to receive and fulfill such orders and directions as our said Court shall there then consider of and give in the premises, and have there then this our precept.
