In the Name of God amen I Claricy Bainbridge of the township of Hopewell in the County of Mercer and State of New Jersey Being weak in body but of sound mind memmory and understanding Do for the Settlement of all my temporal Concerns and the disposal of all my earthly estate which it hath pleased the Lord in his good providence to give me Mak and publish this my Last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say First. It is my will and I do order that my executors hereinafter named shall after my decease purchase out of my estate tombstones to be placed at the head and foot of my grave Second I give and bequeath unto Susan Wombaugh one pair of Andirons and and Bed quilt which I promised heretofore Third I give and bequeath unto Simeon Bainbridges children the following Articles to Sarah Elizabeth my bed and bedsted and to her and Hannah Ann and Mary Jane each two good sheets and each one pair of pillow cases and to Hannah Ann my Large Looking glass Fourth, I give and bequeath unto my two sisters Sarah Phillips and Mary Hunt all the remainder of my household goods and clothing to be equally divided between them in value share & sahre alike Fifth I give and bequeath unto my friend Susan Atchley the sum of Ten Dollars to her her heirs & assigns forever Sixth I give and bequeath unto my sisters son William Bainbridge Hunt Ten Dollars to him his heirs & assigns forever Seventh I give and beueath unto my two sisters Sarah Phillips and Mary Hunt each twenty five Dollars and to each of them their heirs and assigns forever Eighth I give and bequeath unto Simeon Bainbridge all the remainder & Residue of my estate whatsoever to him his heirs and assigns forever Tenth and Lastly I do hereby Constitute & appoint my Brother-in-law Philip T. Hunt Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my had and Seal this Second Day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six May 2nd 1846 Claricy X Bainbridge her mark Signed, Sealed, published and Declared by the said Claricy Bainbridge to be her last will and testament in the presence of Theophilus Hunt William B. Hunt Mercer County, ss. Theophilus Hunt One of the witnesses to the annexed writing, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Claricy Bainbridge of the township of Hopewell the Testatrix therein named, deceased, being duly sworn, doth depose and say that he saw the Testatrix sign and seal the said annexed writing, and heard her publish and declare the same as and for her last Will and Testament: that at the time of doing thereof the said Testatrix was of sound disposing mind, memory and understanding, as far as this deponent knows, and that he verily believes: that William B. Hunt the other subscribing witness thereto, was present at the same time with this deponent, and together with him subscribed his name thereto as witness in the presence of the Testatrix and of each other, and at the request of the Testatrix and that the said Testatrix died more than ten days ago. Theophilus Hunt Sworn and subscribed this fourteenth day of October 1848 before me Wm. P. Sherman Surrogate Mercer County, ss. Philip T. Hunt The Executor in the annexed writing named, being duly sworn doth depose and say, that the annexed writing contains the true last Will and Testament of Claricy Bainbridge the Testatrix therein named, deceased, as far as he knows and as he verily believes; that he will, as the Executor thereof, well and truly perform the same, first by paying the debts of the said deceased, and then the legacies therein specified, as far as the Goods and Chattels and Credits of the said deceased will thereunto extend, and the law charge him; that he will make and exhibit into the Surrogate's office of the county of Mercer, a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said Goods, Chattels and Credits, as far as the same have or shall come to his possession or knowledge, or to the possession or knowledge of any other person or persons to his use, to his knowledge; and that he will well and truly account when thereunto lawfully required.
