David and Mary Laing's children also appear to have been written at the same time (different hand) and in this order - note the February and August birth of the same year and not in sequence The Bible is in very poor condition with pages pulling away from the spine and evidence of foxing. Written in the cover it says "Bought in 1815" The Holy Bible containing the Old and New Testament together with the Apochrypha and arguments prefixed to the different books. with moral and ? logical observations illustrating each chapter. composed by The Reverend Mr. Ostervald Professor of Divinity and one of the ministers of the church at Neupchatel in Swisserland.
