I order and direct that all my past debts and funeral expenses be paid as soon after my death as practicable. The rest and residue of my property I dispose of as follows. My executors hereinafter named the survivor of therein are to take the provision and charge of the same and to pay yearly and every year the interest cents, issues and profits thereof to my beloved wife so cozy as she remains my widow and takes care of and supports our children and until my youngest child shall have attained her age of twenty one. This provision is in lieu of my wife’s claim for dower. I do hereby authorize my executors and the survivor of therein to sell either at public or private sale. All or any part of my real and personal estate, except such articles of my household and kitchen furniture as my wife may choose for her own use, such articles to be held by my wife subject to the provisions of this my will. The monies arising from such sale or sales, I order and direct to be placed out at interest by my executors or the survivors of therein and the interest to be paid as hereinbefore directed. It is my will and I do order and direct that such time as my youngest child shall or might have reached her age of twenty one. That my executors or the survivor of therein make a division of my estate among my wife and two children, share and share alike. It is my will, that if my wife shall marry or depart this life before my youngest child shall reach the age of twenty one, then my executors shall apply the interest and profits of the whole of my estate to the exclusive support and education of my children. It is my will that if either of my children shall die without lawful issue and before the age of twenty one then the share of such deceased child shall go to the surviving sister. It is my will that if both my children should die without lawful issue and before the age of twenty one then my wife shall take one third of my estate and the remainder be divided among my brothers and sisters and the survivor of therein. It is my will and I do hereby authorize my executors to allow to, my wife such sum of money out of my property as they may think reasonable for her support and that of my children for the first year after my death and charge the said sum as one of the debts of my estate. I do hereby nominate substitute and appoint my brother Elisha Jewell and my friend John Lowrey executors of this my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of December in the year of our Lord, Eighteen hundred and twenty Eight.
