Imprimis my will is and I do hereby order and direct, that my funeral expences and all my just debts be duly paid and discharged with convenient speed after my decease by my said Executrix out of my personall estate, not herein by me particularly bequeathed. Item I Give and devise unto my dear and loving wife Jane Webb all that my dwelling house, wharf and premisses whereon & wherein I now live, And also all that my Tenement and lott of land in Perth Amboy aforesaid Containing about four Acres, which I Bought of Guisbert Lane To Have and To Hold said Tenem.ts lot of land and premisses with their and every of their appurtenances unto my said wife Jane for and during her natural life and no longer: and I also give and Bequeath unto my said wife her heirs and assigns, my Negros Betty, Balinda, Dorinda and Abia and also all my household Goods plate & furniture, Together with my Chaise and harness which I lately had from Boston. Item, I Give and devise unto my Son Abraham Webb and his heirs for Ever, All that my house and lot of land in Perth Amboy afores.d which I purchased of Mathias Iseltine and is now in the Tenure & Occupation of M.rs, Together with the lot of land thereunto adjoin: :ing, and I also give and Bequeath unto my said Son Abraham, my Negro Man Anfield, my negro boy Will, and my Negro Girl Moll, and also the Sum of fifty pound proclamation money to be paid him by my said Executrix, out of my personal Estate, when he shall Come of age. Item, I Give and devise unto my Son Isaac Webb (after his mothers decease) All that my house wharf and Premisses whereon I now # # dwell and live, To Have and To Hold unto him his heirs and assigns forever; And I also give and Bequeath unto my said Son Isaac my Negro man Peter and my Negro Girl Kate But I also do hereby order and direct that my said son Isaac shall pay unto Each of my Sons William Webb and John Webb the Sum of Twenty [Page 2] Twenty five pounds money afores.d when he shall have & take possession of his said House and wharf. Item, I Give and devise unto my son Williams Webb, all that my lott of land fronting high Street in Perth Amboy afores.d containing about half an acre, the which I also purchased of Guisbert Lane, and also all my estate Right and interest of in and to the house and ground (next adjoin: :ing to the house and ground whereon I now live) which was mort: :gaged by Samuel Pray unto Gabriel Stelle, who granted & assigned the said Mortgage, and his Interest therein unto me To Have and To Hold, the said lott of Ground, and also the said Mortgaged Pre: :misses and the moneys due or that shall hereafter be due thereon, unto my said son Williams Webb, his heirs and assigns forever, and I also hereby give and Bequeath unto my said Son Williams, my Negro Man Quaco and my Negro Girl Betty. Item, I Give and Devise unto my Son John Webb (after his mothers decease) All that my said Tenement and lott of land Containing about four Acres, which I bought as afores.d of Guisbert Lane To Have and To Hold the said Tenement and Lott of land with the appurtenances unto my said Son John Webb his heirs and assigns forever; And I do also give unto my said Son John, my Negro Boy Coffey, and my Negro Girl Peggy and in Case any of my said Negros herein before Bequeathed to my Children, shall happen to die before my said Children shall Respectively Come of age, then my will and devise is that such Negro dying shall be made good, to such child or children out of my personal estate, by and at the discretion of my Executrix before division thereof be made. Item, I Give and Bequeath the Rents issues and profit of all my Estate unto my said wife for and towards her support and the suport and maintainence of my said Children untill they shall Severally and respectively arrive at the age of twenty One Years, when unless otherwise herein before particularly ordered and directed they shall each have and take their respective parts shares and Estates. Item, I Give and Bequeath All the rest and residue of my Estate reall and personall whatsoever and wheresoever to be Equally divided amongst my said four Sons, Abraham, Isaac, Williams and John, their Heirs and assigns forever, Each to have his share part and portion thereof as they shall Respectively Arrive to the age afores.d But if it shall so happen, that any of my said Chidren shall dye before they arrive to the age afores.d and without issue lawfully begotten, Then and on such Case, I Order, give devise and Bequeath the Bequests, Legacys, Estate share, part and portion of such Child or Children dying as aforesaid to the survivors of them Equally to be Divided among them, their Heirs [Page 3] Heirs and assigns forever; And I do hereby desire order and Direct my said Executrix to Load and dispatch the Brigantine John and Robert with all Convenient speed for Ireland; and as for my Sloop Jane and also my share and part of and the said Brigantine, I leave the same to the Discretion of my said Executrix either to sell and dispose thereof or otherwise to keep and employ them as She shall think fitting, And also to finish the Vessall I now have upon the Stocks or otherwise sell her; And I do hereby declare that the Bequests Legacys and devises to my said wife herein before made and given, are in full of her right of Dower & of all other rights and Titles whatsoever which she hath or may Claim Challenge or demand of in or to my Estate reall and personall. Lastly I do make and appoint my dear wife Jane Webb, Sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament, hereby Revoking, disan: :nulling and making void all former and other Wills, by me at any time or times heretofore make, Rectifying and Confirming this and Only this to be my last will and Testament In Wittness whereof I the said John Webb have hereunto sett my hand and seal the thir: :teenth day of September in the Year of our Lord Christ One thousand Seven Hundred and forty. Memorandum that on the fourteenth day of January in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and sixty five, Phillip Kearny Esq.r one of the evidences to the foregoing instrument appeared before me John Smyth duly Authorized &c. And he being duly swarn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God on his oath Declares that he was present and did see John Webb party thereto sign and seal the same, and heard him pub: lish pronounce and Declare it to be his last Will and Testament. That at the doing thereof the said John Webb was of sound mind & memory to the best of his knowledge and as he verily believes, and that at the same time Samuel Lewis, Jmaes Mallown and George Webb the other evidences were all present and signed their names as evidences thereto, as he the Deponant did in the presence of the said John Webb. The said Phillip Kearny further declares on his oath, that to his certain knowledge George Webb One of the said evidences is since dead, and has been informed and verily believes James Mallown is also Dead, and that Samuel Lewis the other evidence removed from this Province upwards of fifteen Years ago, and believes he never Returned since.
