Ludlow Rulif died March18,1958 History Cemetery was bought by Samuel Truax Sr in 1785 from Andrew Wilson Samuel Truax died March 10,1792 and was buried on the west side of the tract on a bluff overlooking the Waackaack creek. His son Samuel W inherited the land until his death in 1830. The land was handed down to Thomas Truax. George Evans purchased 40 acres in 1832 from Thomas Truax reserving 1/2 acres on the west side of the tract to be set apart for a burying ground. Altho family members of the Truax family are buried in the cemetery as late as 1921, most people buried here were related thru marriage or were good neighbors or friends. According to Leroy Covert, his father, Simon B Covert who died in 1934 was digging on the bank of the creek and uncovered a skeleton over 6 feet long. When he went to replace it, it disintegrated. Leading some to think it was once an Indian burial ground (wish we could prove that) Most of this information was obtained by a young man going for his Eagle Scout in the early 1980s. Since I don't have his permission I won't use his name. The rest was either known by me or found thru researching my family
