Old Churchyard at Locust Grove, near Eatontown  (From Book of the Dead of Monmouth)

This church disappeared long ago and no vestige of it is left, except a few of the headstones that surrounded 
it.  The burying ground is overgrown with trees and brush.  Old locust posts bearing the dates 1779 and 
1797 were still standing until the site was cleared some five or six years ago but these have been destroyed 
by fire.  The place is now called Potters Field and it is probable that none of the inscribed stones were placed 
before the church was abandoned.  The compiler cannot guarantee that he has secured all the records.  They 
were obtained with great difficulty.
