From: County of Monmouth Archives and Records Center 125 Symmes Drive Manalapan, NJ 07726 Deed Book E, page 20 James Hubbard to Theophilus Longstreet, 12 June, 1714 This Indenture made this twelfth Day of June in the 13th year of Anno by the Grace of God of Great Brittain, France & Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith, Anno Domini 1714. Between James Hubbard of Middletown in the County of Monmouth and Province of New Jersey of the one part & Theophilus Longstreet of Shrewsbury in the County & Province aforesaid of the other part: Whereas the said James Hubbard standeth seized of an hundred & ninety eight acres of land in right of his share of Thomas Cooper's half Propriety of the Eastern Division of said Province formerly called East New Jersey among other lands & rights to him conveyed, together with his fellow purchasers by Deed of Thomas Cooper the 5th day of February 1706~ & since released to him to hold in severalty by his fellow purchasers the second day of October 1708 and entered on the Publick records of this Province; Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said James Hubbard for and in consideration of a competent sum of money by him received of the said Theophilus Longstreet wherewith he is well satisfied & Contented, hath aliened, granted, bargained and sold & by these presents doth alien, grant , bargain & sell unto him the said Theophilus Longstreet his heirs & assigns, one hundred acres of land to be taken up in right of the second & third division land belonging to the said share of a Propriety of East Jersey & laid out to him the said Longstreet by the Surveyor General & further Released & assured to him by the Proprietors of said Eastern Division of this Province with all the Royalties, Profits and Appurtenances thereunto belonging and all the estate, right, title, interest, reversion, remainder claim & Demand whatsoever of him the said James Hubbard of, in, to or out of the same hundred Acres of land or any part of it as amply & fully to all intents & purposes, as the same was or can be assured to him the said Hubbard To have and to hold the said Hundred Acres of Land & premises with the appurtenances unto him the said Theophilus Longstreet his heirs & assigns to the only use & behoof of him the said Theophilus Longstreet his heirs & assigns forever In Witness whereof the said James Hubbard to this part of these presents hath set his hand & seal the Day & year first above written. Sealed & Delivered, also the receipt of Momento that the words the said the above mentioned consideration Longstreet was underlined before money acknowledged in presence of signing & sealing hereof. Drummond Memorandum this 25th day of June 1714; Gawin Drummond one of the within subscribing witnesses declared upon oath that he saw the within named James Hubbard seal & Deliver the within Instrument as his act and Deed, before me. John Reid Surveyed for Theophilus Longstreet in right of James Hubbard's share of Thomas Cooper's half propriety as by his deed the 12th of June 1714 one hundred acres of Land on the North side of Manasquan River. Bounded Southeasterly by Land of Richard Hartshorne, Northerly by land of David Allen, westerly by land of Doctor Johnstone & land of Joseph Lawrence, running from the Northwest corner of said Hartshorne's land, Northeast twenty two chains, then North half a point more westerly fifty chains to the land of said Allen, then westerly along his line twenty chains to said Johnstone's Land, then along the lines of said Johnstone's and said Lawrence's land to where it began.
