On the twelfth year of his majesty’s Reign, William, by the Grace of God, King over England & -- Between William West of the town of Shrewsbury & County of monmouth on the province of East New Jersey Yeoman & Margaret his wife on the one part & John West of the town County & province aforesaid brother of the said William West yeoman on the other part Wittnesseth. Whereas the aforesaid William West by a deed of sale bearing date the fourteenth day of November in the year of our Lord 1691 from under the hand & seal of Stephen West & Mercy his wife became seized & Intituled to severall tracts and parcells of upland & meadow Scituate lying & being on the town of Shrewsbury aforesaid and also by a patent from under the hand of the Governor & the major part of his Council for the time being & Signed & Sealed with the Seale of the aforesaid province bearing date the third day of July Anno Domini 1697 for the aforesaid tracts of land & meadow relation thereunto being had may now at large appear . NOW KNOW THE that the said William West & Margaret his wife for & in Consideration of the summ of fifty seven pounds Currant silver money of the province aforesaid to them in hand payd by the above said John West at or before the Ensealing or delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said William West doth hereby acknowledge & thereof & of & from Every part & parcel thereof he free ly Clearly & absolutely acquitt Release Exonerate & Discharge the above said John West his heirs Executors & Administrators firmly by these presents and the said William West & Margaret his wife Have given granted bargained sold aliened Enfeoffed & Confirmed and by these presents Do give grant bargain sell alien Enfeoff & Confirm all the aforesaid tracts and parcells of upland & meadow unto the said John West his heirs & assigns for Ever viz the house lot at Norawaticunck in length North & South thirtie four Chaines and thirteen rods in breadth bounded East by Joseph Parker North & West by highways South by a branch of the Shrewsbury river Except & it is hereby Excepted half an acre to ly square where the father & severall of the Relations of the above William West & the said John West doth ly Interred and that it Shall & may be lawfull to & for the said William West & his heires or any of his Brothers & Sisters & their heires for Ever have free Egress & Xgress to & from the said half acre of Land to bury their dead & to Erect & build what houses or fences on the said half acre of land or burying place Also fourteen acres of upland & meadow at Norawaticunck in length through the neck north & south twentie five Chaines & in breadth seven Chaines & a half bounded South by a small Creek West by Stephen West East by franis Burden North by a Creek that goes to John H----- Also three acres of Meadow upon Long Neck in length Eight Chaines & seven in breadth being a triangle bounded East by Stephen West South & East by Sarah Keap North by Shrewsbury river Also a tract on Rumsons Neck in breadth on the highway North & By East twenty eight Chaines to the Corner next the meeting house thence West one third part of a point more Westerly forty five Chaines on the other highway to George Allens Corner thence South three quarters of a point more Westerly forty five Chains thence on a straight line to where it begann bounded North & East by highways South by land patented to John Chamniss, West by George Allens land all --- parcells of land & meadow By patent doth remain for One hundred forty Eight Acres Together with all & all manner of buildings meadows feedings pastures Common of pastures woods and orchards Trees water water courses ponds pools pitts Easements profits Commodities fishing fowling hunting hawking mines minerals Royaltyes f-----es & appurtenances to the said tracts & parcells of land belonging or any manner of wayes appertaining and the Estate Right title Interest property Claim & demand whatsoever of the said William West & Margaret his wife or Either of them in & unto the said premisses or any part thereof and the Reversion & Reversions Remainder & Remainders of all & singular the said premisses with their & Every of their Rights members & appurtenances together with the patent Charter Grant & all other Escriptt muniments Evidence & Writtings touching or anywayes Concerning the said premisses or any part thereof unto the said John West his heirs & assigns for Ever To Have & To Hold all the abovesaid tracts & parcells of upland & meadow & all other the premisses ----- before mentioned with their & Every of their rights members & appurtenances unto the said John West his heirs & assigns for Ever to the only proper use benefit & behooft of the said John West his heirs & assigns for Ever In manner & forms following that is to say that the above said William West & Margaret his wife on the day of the date hereof is lawfully & absolutely seized of & in the said tracts of land herein before mentioned & intended to be hereby granted & the premisses & Every part & parcell of the same with the appurtenances of a good sure perfect lawfull & and seiz able Estate of ---------- fee simple without any Condition with power of Revocation or limitation of any uses after or any other Restraint matter or thing whatsoever to alter Charge Change --------- defeat or hurt the same Estate & hath in themselves full power good Right & lawfull Authority to grant & Convey the tracts of land & premises according to the true Intent & meaning of these presents and that the said tracts of land & premises are free & discharged of & from all former & ther titles Charges Mortgages Joyntures dowers Charges & Incumbrances what soever the proper quit or Cheife Rent only Excepted & Reserved and the said William West & Margaret his wife for themselves their heirs Executors & Administrators Do Covenant Grant promise & agree to & with the said John West his heirs & assigns that he the said William West his heirs Executors & Administrators for & during the termtime & seven years ----- Ensuing as & upon the reasonable request Cost & Charges in the Law of the said John West his heirs And assigns make do & Execute unto the said John West his heirs & assigns all such further & other reasonable acts & things Convey ----- & asuriniet in the Law whatsoever for the further & go Herassusem & find making of the said tracts of land & premises unto the said John West his heirs & assigns as by him the said John West his heirs & assigns his or their Councill learned in the law shall reasonably be ------- densedir -equined.
