Col. Joseph Haight, was born October 6, 1762 in Burlington, NJ. While living in Allentown in Upper Freehold, Monmouth County, NJ he volunteered in May 1777 and served four tours of one month each during May, July, September, and November as a messenger to his father who was Lieutenant Col. of the 2nd Battalion of Burlington Co. Roll # 804, 1153
