Throckmorton, Surrogate Daniel Bennett, the sole Executor in the within Tesament named, being duly sworn on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God, did depose and say that the within Instru ment contains the true last Will and Testament of Jacob Bennet, the Testator therein named, as far as he knows, and as he verily believes. Sworn at Freehold the 24th April 1811- Daniel Bennet W (?) Throckmorten Surrogate The foregoing Will being proved, Pro- bate was granted by me unto Daniel Bennet Sole Executor in the said will named, He being first duly Sworn well and truly to perform the same, exhibit a true and perfect inventory, and render a just and true account, when thereunto lawfully required; Given under the Surrogate Seal of the County of Monmouth, the day and year last above said. W (?) Throckmorton Surrogate Additional Comments: Notes: 1. Original in Monmouth County Archives, file 1620 Will Book A, 420 April 24, 1811 2. Paragraphing of the original will, the note, and Surrogate's writings have been kept as has sentence structure. Spelling was transcribed, as much as possible, without change. 3. The above refutes part of the comments concerning of individual #219, Jacob[us] Bennet in "William Adriaense Bennet : descendants and related families," Author: Kenneth A. Bennett, Publisher: Baltimore [Maryland] : Gateway Press, c1998, Page 130. That document asserts that Daniel was the son of Effie, but Jacob was not the father. In the above transcribed will, Jacob calls Daniel his son, his beloved son, makes him Executor, gives him everything upon Effie's death, then designates paltry sums, paid over exceptionally long periods to the other three sons. The reader can reach whatever conclusion they wish since the baptisms of the other three recorded sons may not necessarily been infant baptisms. Effie's previous marriage was to Joseph Davis on Sep 14, 1754. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/njfiles/ File size: 7.2 Kb
