All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nj/njfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Joe Pawlick jpawlickjr @earthlink.net September 6, 2006, 10:13 pm Source: Undated Will Of John Bennit Written: [1831-1840] I John Bennit (the son of Jacob Bennit) of the township of Shrewsbury in the County of Monmouth and the State of New Jersey, being sick and weak of body but sound of mind, and __ ing memory calling to mind it is appointed for man once to die, and as touching this property has pleased God to help me with, I do make, constitute and order, this my last will and testament in manner of form as follows: In the first place I order my funeral charges and just debts paid , in the second part I order my Executor hereafter named, as soon as convenient after my demise, to make a tender of my moveable property justly and with the monies remaining therefrom to pay off the same, that then to sell a part of the real property, such as they think best to satisfy such deficiency, in the third place I give and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth Bennit all the land property that I possess except the lots hereafter bequeathed to Daniel Bennit, Elias Bennit, and Edward Bennit for and during her lifetime, with the house where I live with all the buildings and appurtenances there unto belonging and after her death, the said property to be sold and equally divided among my children and grand children, in the fourth place I give and bequeath to my son Daniel Bennit one acre of land on which his house stands, fifthly I give and bequeath to my son Elias Bennit one acre of land on which his house now stands, sixthly I give to my son Edward Bennit one acre of land on which his house now stands, seventhly I give to my son John Bennit died, children their fathers dividend, eightly I give and bequeath to my son Jacob Bennits children their fathers dividend all such dividend to be equally divided among them share and share alike, ninethly and lastly I nominate and appoint my trusty friend John Ely my executor to this, my last will and testament. I hereby verify this for my last will and testament disallowing and annulling all former wills and testaments published announced and declared in those presence.
