The older one, located on the north side of Hanover Avenue (Mount Freedom), was built on land purchased from Isaac Hulbard by the Walnut Grove Baptist Church. This church was established on October 3, 1795. Although still surrounded by a stone wall, it is overgrown most of the year and has fallen victim to vandals and decay. The newer cemetery, with its wrought-iron archway, sits across the street and next to what was the Methodist Episcopal Church. This church was erected in place of the old Baptist Church, which closed when the Baptist Society became extinct.
