Mr. Foulks is a son of Charles W. Foulks of this place. Since leaving New Egypt he has traveled in nearly every State of the Union. His home now is in St. Louis, Missouri. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 26 Nov 1909 MINNIE KERNAN & JOHN LARKIN Miss Minnie Kernan of Brooklyn was married to Mr. John Larkin, of this place on Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock, at the Church of the Assumption. The bride spent a pleasant summer in New Egypt and succeeded in winning Mr. Larkin who is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. James Larkin, of this place. Miss Eleanor M. Kernan, sister of the bride was maid of honor, and Mr. Andrew (Nick) Meany was best man. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Blake of Allentown. The happy couple will reside at New Egypt ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 26 Nov 1909 THE NOBLE OUTCAST Entertainment Grand Success The Noble Outcast, a drama in four acts was given in Meirs' Hall last evening for the benefit of the New Egypt Fire Company, under the management of Mr. Harry Worth. The entertainment was well given and enjoyed by those present. The attendance was good considering the weather. The drama was given by the following characters: Colonel Lee, A Southern Gentleman, Eugene Compton; Mrs. Lee, Colonel Lee's wife, Ethel Applegate, France Lee, a disputed possession, Helen Chafey; Jack Worthington, In Love with France, Wm. H. Thompson; James Blackburn, Jack's rival, Robert Rogers; Sadie, Faithful and fair, Carrie Dennis; Jerry, A typical tramp, Harry Worth. The entertainment will be repeated next Thursday evening, December 2nd. Admission 15¢ to all. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 26 Nov 1909 AARON SOUTHARD Aaron Southard, aged 32 years died at the home of his brother, Henry Southard, on Maple avenue early Friday morning. Mr. Southard had always enjoyed good health and never complained. He had been sick but a few days. Funeral services were held at the house on Sunday. Interment at Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery.
