A husband and three small children survive her. Funeral was held on Wednesday. Interment at Zion. Mrs. Rebecca Davis HIRES, (nee Lilly) widow of the late Eugene Hires, aged 23 years, died at her home in Salem on Wednesday the 7th inst., after a brief illness. Mrs. Hires is a daughter of Rev. and Mrs. W.A. Lilly well known in this vicinity. Young Man Killed Raymond ROCKHILL of Camden, aged 20 years, a fireman on the Amboy division of the Pennsylvania Railroad, was so badly injured at Trenton Monday that he died from his injuries at the Mercer Hospital in that city Tuesday night. The train was taking water at the State street tank, and started up suddenly and Rockhill fell to the tracks below, landing on the back of his neck. His remains were sent to the home of his parents at Camden on Tuesday. Settling the Fort Estate Dr. Leon GOBLE is now settling up the estate of the late Dr. Geo. F. FORT, owing to the recent death of a Miss Fort. Dr. Goble is now at liberty to settle up the estate for which he has been acting as trustee for many years. Dr. Fort was a practicing physician in New Egypt, the greater part of his life and succeeded in gaining a fortune. He was elected Governor of New Jersey on the Democratic ticket in 1851, and ended his remaining days at New Egypt in the handsome residence which is now known as the Cedarbrook.
