    Tablet on large natural stone to west of Church reads:
                         1765-1935
    This Tablet is dedicated to the memory of The Catholic
    Pioneers who came to Macopin (Echo Lake) in 1765. Here
    stood the Cradle of the Catholic Church in the Diocese
    of Newark and in all Northern New Jersey.
