This 17th day of November 1744, I Thomas Stathem, junior of Cohansey in the County of Salem and Province of West New Jersey, yeo. being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory blessed by God for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body, knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament (that is to say) Principally and first of all I recommend my body to the earth to be buried after the manner of a decent Chirisain burial at the descretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty Power of God and as touching such worldly possessions it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life. I give, devise and dispose of in the following manner and form _________. I give and bequeath to my welbeloved wife, Keziah Stathem all and singular my moveable estate to her, her heirs and assigns forever after my lawful debts and legacies are paid. Item: My will is that by beloved wife whom I constitute, ordain and empower to be my sole excutrix of this my Last Will and Testamentshould pay out of my moveable estate the following legacies: My will is that my father Thomas Stathem of Cohansey in ye County of Salem and province of West New Jersey shall have five shillings and also that my brother Jonathan Stathem of Cohansey shall have five shillings and after that my sister Catherine Lupton? shall have five shillings to them, their heirs and assigns forever. _____________________ utterly disalow, revoke and disanul all and every other former testaments, wills, legacies and bequeaths and executors by me in any ways before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof i have ________ set my hand and seal the day and year above written.
