The extinguisher,it is said,was defective,and in place of having an entirely new bottom put in the damaged part had been soldered and was thus unfit to stand the strain put on it. The fragment that struck Campbell broke three ribs on his left side,blew away the left side of his face and fractured his skull.He was taken at once to the hospital,where he died.
