The following is a transcript from the Returns of Marriages, 1795-1800, kept in the office of the Clerk of the County of Bergen, pursuant to Sec. VIII., of "An Act concerning marriages," passed the 4th of March, 1795. The records have been herewith arranged in alphabetical order. H - indiactes that the ceremony was performed by the Rev. James V. Romeyn, of the Hackensack Church. P - that the Rev. Wilhelmus Elting, of Paramus, was the officiating clergyman. S - that the Rev. Solomon Fr?ligh, of Schraelenburgh, officiated.
