Acknowledged 22 May 1819 by Jacob and Nancy Willever in Sussex County, N.J. before Henry Hankinson; 10 October 1819 by Jacob Winters in Columbia Co., PA., before George McEwin, a Justice of the Peace, that he saw Daniel Willever and Charity, his wife, John Thomas and Mary, his wife, and Michael Metherner and Elizabeth, his wife, sign seal and deliver the deed; 26 May 1820 by Jacob Winters in Sussex County, NJ, before Henry Hankinson, as above, that he saw all the grantors sign seal and deliver the foregoing quitclaim deed. It seems very likely that the witness, Jacob Winter was a son of Mary Willever Winter and her husband, Peter Winter. The deceased John Woolever, of Mansfield Twp., apparently was the father of Daniel Willever, known to have been the first settler of Jerseytown, PA., which is and was in Madison Twp., Columbia Co., PA.) Beginning at a stump in the fence corner to Baylors land in Joseph Hendricksons line and along the same north 19 Degrees west 4 chains and 28 links to a cherry tree thence north 71 degrees east 3 chains and 77 links to a black oak sapling stump thence south 46 degrees east 3 chains and 29 links to Baylors line thence south 50 degrees west 5 chains and 50 links to the Beginning, containing one acre three quarters and ten perches of land , which said lot of land was conveyed to the party of the first part by John G. T2, PG. 20: 20 Nov 1820, William Darrah, Esq., Sheriff, County of Sussex, to John Woolever, 47 acre lot, for $3.00 at sale order by court to pay debts of James Baylor and Michael Baylor, totaling $358.78. The Sheriff called a public sale to sell two tracts of land: 47 acres bounded by lands of Peter Fritts, and one other tract or piece of land in the same township adjoining lands of William Richey, that is said to contain 140 acres of land, all subject to prior incumbrances value ten cents as by the said writ of execution duly returned to said court. At public vendue on 03 May 1820, no person appearing or offering to bid, the sale was adjourned by the Sheriff until the 20 May 1820, sale held at the house of Joseph Barton, Township of Mansfield, location of property, no offer or bid made, sale was adjourned until the 31 May 1820, at the house of Joseph Barton, again no person offering to bid, sale was publicly adjourned until the 02 June, 1820, again no person bid, sale was adjourned until 21 June, 1820, sale was adjourned until 12 July 1820, no person bid, sale adjourned until the 12 August 1820, offered same land and premises and one John Woolever then offered $3.00 for the 47 acre lot and his said bid being cried for a reasonable length of time for the purpose of a fair and open vendue and no other bid being made. Therefore Sheriff did publicly strike off and sell to the said John Woolever the said lands and premises with the appurtenances for the sum of $3.00, so bid as aforesaid.
