(Daily Journal Photo by Nagrod Studio) [article, Daily Journal, ___mber 23, 1968:] Dinner Bell Calls Back Retired Firefighters Elizabeth Local 9 of the Firemen's Mutual Benevolent Association cited 23 former city firemen for 25 and 50 years of service at the annual retired men's dinner Friday night at St Michael's Hall, E. Jersey and Jacques Sts. George Forrester, city fire director, awarded plaques to William Conway, John Sullivan, Peter Kenney, John Fay, all Elizabeth, Frank Corrigan of Bricktown, and Eugene Henry of Point Pleasant. Sixteen other former firefighters received cash awards and pins for 25 years service. They are Stephen Bacsenko, Steve Czujak, William Decker, Charles Feihl, Frank Hornyak, Matthew Hueston, Henry Hurdy, Edward Kappy, Anthony Matlosz, Richard Malone, George Morris, Peter Mack Jr, Fred Reid, William Robertson, Stanley Samsel and Lawrence Schmieder. Guest speakers were Mayor Thomas G Dunn; William F Mallon, a city fireman and state FMBA president, Donald Silvey, FMBA Local 9 president; Elizabeth councilman-elect William J McCloud and Elizabeth Battalion Chief Charles Pasko.
