Carkhuff, husband of Mrs Marguerite Henry Carkhuff, died last evening after a brief illness at his home, 113 West Price street. He was born in Elizabeth and educated in the schools of that city. He moved to Linden six years ago. Mr Carkhuff was employed for 24 years at the plant of the American Abrasive Metals Company, Irvington, where he was a foreman. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Elizabeth. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Waldo E and Ralph W of Linden; and a brother, Foster Carkhuff of Somerville.
