WILLIAM HORACE CORBIN, for many years one of the most prominent members of the New Jersey bar, died in Sullivan county, N. Y., on September 15, 1912. He was born in the town of McDonough, Chenango county, N. Y., on July 12, 1851. While at the academy at Oxford, N. Y., he secured a scholarship in Cornell University and after graduating from this instituion studied law in Columbia College, New York City. In 1870 he took up his residence in Elizabeth, N. J., and was a resident there at the time of his death. He was a member of the Elizabeth Board of Education, of the Elizabeth City Council and of the New Jersey Assembly. His law office was in Jersey City and he was prominently identified with many financial institutions in that city, including the New Jersey Title Guarantee & Trust Company, the First National Bank, the Pavonia Trust Company and the Dixon Crucible Company. He was survived by a widow, two sons and a daughter. He was elected a contributing member fo theis Society on January 27, 1891.
