James Dunn, 80 years old, a retired cooper, died yesterday at his home, 812 W
Grand Street, where he lived with a daughter, Mrs Robert Chalmers. He was the
husband of the late Mrs Rachel Prahm Dunn.
Mr Dunn, born in Scotland, came to this country 39 years ago, settling in
Elizabeth four years later. He was a member of Greystone Presbyterian Church and
a life member of Solomon Lodge 197 F & AM in Scotland.He was employed for about
20 years as a cooper at the old South Front street plant of the Swan Finch Oil
Company, which later moved to Newark. Mr Dunn retired in 1927.
He is survived in addition to Mrs Chalmers by two other daughters, Mrs William
Lindsay of Linden and Mrs Albert Duncan, Bay Head; three sons, James Jr,
Cranford; William and Frank P Dunn, Elizabeth; eleven grandchildren, a great
grandchild and two brothers, William Dunn, Philadelphia, and George Dunn in
England.The body is at the August F Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home, 139 Westfield
Ave.

Dunn--In this city, March 2, 1947, James Dunn of 812 W Grand Street, husband of
the late Rachel Prahm Dunn. Relatives and friends ae kindly invited to attend
the funeral services to be held at the August F Schmidt Funeral Home, 139
Westfield Ave, on Wednesday, March 5, at 2 pm. Interment in Rosedale and Linden
Cemeteries. Kindly omit flowers.
