Funeral of James C Henry Sr
Special to the Journal
LINDEN, Aug 23 [1948]---Largely attended funeral services were conducted
Saturday afternoon for James C Henry Sr, of 434 Brook street, at the funeral
home of Robert J Mitchell of 118 Livingston street, Elizabeth. Mr Henry died
Wednesday. The services were conducted by Rev Harold J Sweeney of Grace
Episcopal Church, Elizabeth. He also read the committal prayers at Evergreen
Cemetery.
Among the many floral offerings were tributes from Fire Headquarters Staff,
Elizabeth; Elizabeth Local 9, F.M.B.A., and Bayway Federation of the Esso
Standard Oil Company.
The bearers, all grandsons, were: James C Henry 3rd, Charles Henry, Louis
Hergert, Eugene Hergert, Waldo Carkhuff, and Ralph Carkhuff.
