Born in Elizabeth, Mrs Hergert lived in Linden 50 years. Mrs Hergert operated the Hergert Moving and Storage Co here since her husband Herman C Hergert died in 1948. Mrs Hergert was a member of the Emmaus Chapter 183 Order of the Eastern Star and Council 97 Daughters of America. She was a communicant of the Grace Episcopal Church in Linden. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs Bertha Kunz of Toms River; two sons, J Louis of Elizabeth and Linden First Ward Councilman Eugene F Hergert; two brothers, James Henry of Elizabeth and Eugene F Henry of Fair Lawn, and two sisters, Mrs Marguerite Ravell [sic] and Mrs Adeline Hausleiter, both of Linden; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Arrangements have been completed by the Werson Funeral Home, 635 N Wood Ave. Hergert--Jennie, age 77, of 109 W Price St, Linden, on Saturday, Aug 5, 1972, beloved wife of the late Herman C Hergert; mother of Mrs Bertha Kunz, J Louis Hergert and Eugene F Hergert, and sister of James and Eugene F Henry, Mrs Marguerite Ravell [sic] and Mrs Adeline Hausleiter. Funeral services at the Werson Funeral Home, 635 N Wood Ave, on Tuesday, Aug 8. Complete notice in Monday's Daily Journal. Visiting Sunday 7-10 pm and Monday 2-4 and 7-10 pm. James Henry, 80, Had Moving Firm James C Henry, 80, of 812 Murray St, Elizabeth, died Tuesday in the Alexian Brothers Hospital after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Elizabeth, Mr Henry retired in 1971 after more than 50 years as owner-operator of the Henry Moving Co., 1068 Elizabeth Ave. He was a member of the Elizabeth Avenue Merchants Association. He and his wife, Mrs Florence Lonecke Henry, celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in November. Also surviving are two sons, James C Henry Jr of Naples, FL, a retired Elizabeth fireman, and Charles E Henry of Linden; two daughters, Mrs Florence Fish of Summit and Mrs Gladys Ryan of Brick Town; a brother, Eugene F Henry of Fairfield; two sisters, Mrs Marguerite Revell and Mrs Adeline Hausleiter, both of Linden, 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
