He was active in amateur theatrical productions and was a song writer in his spare time. Mr Jordan was born in Brooklyn and was a funeral director in New York from 1924 to 1935. In Union, he operated the former Jordan Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave., now operated by Haeberle & Barth of Irvington. In his spare time, Mr Jordan wrote popular songs in collaboration with others. His most famous written in the '20s, was entitled "Redhead." Mr Jordan also directed and produced a number of theatrical benefits for charitable and civic causes. He was honored at a testimonial dinner in 1948 by Union Lodge of Elks and again in 1950 by the Exchange Club, in both of which he was active. He was a member of The Revelers, township dramatic group. The former funeral director was a veteran of World War I and a communicant of St Michael's Church. Surviving are his mother, Mrs Mary Cawley Jordan of Union; a brother, Michael of New York, and two sisters, Mrs Gustaf Carlson of Plainfield and Mrs Nora Fitzgerald of New York.
