Subway Worker Killed in Tube
John Kidd, 65, foreman of an I.R.T. subway carpenter gang, was killed early
yesterday by a Seventh Avenue I.R.T. work train while making a roadway
inspection between the Clark Street and Wall Street station in the northbound
tube, the police of the Old Slip Station reported. Mr Kidd lived at 2145 Story
Avenue, the Bronx. He had been with the transit company for forty years. Traffic
was delayed half an hour.
