John Kidd Elizabeth, Oct. 12th 1875 At the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Fulton street M.E. Church, held last evening the following resolutions were adopted: Whereas, God in his providence has removed from our midst by death, our honored President and friend, Brother John Kidd: the board would place upon its minutes as expressive of the feelings of the board under their sad bereavement, the following resolutions: Resolved, That in the death of Brother Kidd the church has lost one of its original members and founders, one of its best friends and oldest officers, whose zeal for its prosperity never flagged, one whose venerable form was always seen and his kindly greeting was always heard in our midst aiding his counsel and example the cause of Christ. Resolved, That while we bow humbly to the will of God in his removal, we feel that the church has sustained a heavy loss, the community a kind neighbor, the land a noble citizen, the poor a friend. Resolved, That we rejoice that the lives of faith and piety of God's servants, give to us the extended assurance that they rest from their labors and their works do follow them. Resolved, That we tender the sincere sympathies of the board to the bereaved family, and will ever pray that the blessings of God may rest upon them.
