ELIZABETH, N. J., April 15 [1949]- Mrs. Mary J. Van Pelt, financial secretary, 
deaconess and member of the board of trustees of the East Baptist Church here, for 
many years, died last night at her home, 316 Fulton Street, where she was 
born sixty-six years ago. She was the wife of Eliakim Van Pelt Sr.

Mrs. Van Pelt was president of the Ladies Aid Society of the church and 
superintendant of the primary department of the Sunday School. She also was a 
member of the board of managers of the New Jersey Baptist Home for the Aged in 
Newark, and treasurer of Elizabeth Council, Daughters of America.
