All Rights Reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nj/njfiles.htm ********************************************************* LESHER, William H., Civil War Federal Pension Application Resided: Phillipsburg, Warren County, New Jersey Act of May 11, 1812 Declaration for Pension State of New Jersey, County of Warren On this 21 day of May, A.D. one thousand nine hundred and twelve, personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace within and for the county and State afresaid, William LESHER who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is 78 years of age, and a resident of Phillipsburg, county of Warren, State of New Jersey; and he is the indentical person who was enrolled at Easton PA, under the name William LESHER, on the 22 day of Sept, 1862, as a Private, in Co. K 153 Regt PA Vols Inf in the service of the United States, in the Civil War, and was honorable discharged at Harrisburg, on the 23 July, 1863. That he also served _____. That he was not employed in the military or naval service of the United States otherwise than as stated above. That his personal description at enlistment was as follows: Height: 5 feet 8 inches; complexion, light; color of eyes, brown; color of hair, dark; that his occupation was Carpenter, that he was born January 26 1834, Northampton Co Penna. That his several places of residence since leaving the service have been as follows: part of the time in Mt. Bethel PA, most of my time in Phillipsburg NJ. That he is pensioner under certificate No. 476925, that he has not applied for pension under original No. _______. That he make this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the pension roll of the United States under the provisions of the act of May 11, 1912.
