COOL, of Belvidere, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elston STOPP, on third street, Belvidere, following a five week'illness frrom paralysis, He was born September 14, 1843 and was a son of the late John T. and Elizabeth COOL of MT. Hermon, Warren county, where he spent his early life until he volunteered as a soldier in the Civil War and enlisted October 6, 1861, at Trenton under Captain Fowler, Company M, First Regiment N.I. Volunteers and was mustered out October 20, 1864, by Captain J.W. LINING. He was in the battles og Gettysburg, Bull Run and Mine Hill and in the later- battle was wounded through the chest. Shortly after his return from service he resided in Buttzville, N.J. and from there moved to Harmony where he lived for forty-two years and on April 4 last he and his wife moved to Belvidere where the later died November 14. Mr. COOL was a member of the Lower Harmony Methodist church. The deceased was the last member of a large family of children. He is survived by three daughters and two sons: Mrs. William STOUT, Mrs. Elston STOPP and Mrs. George SNOVER of Belvidere; Clark COOL of Stewartsville; William COOL of Roxburg. Also by fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o;clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elston STOPP, Rev. A.L. Powell, pastor of the Lower Harmondy Methodist church, and Rev. W.C. James, pastor of the Belvidere Methodist church officiating. Interment in the Lower Harmondy cemetery.
